For the hype and long wait, just eh. Better off going to La Perla for breakfast burritos.

We have been going to Kono's Cafe for lunch when in Pacific Beach since they opened about 30 years ago. They have a great variety of breakfast and lunch items on the menu to choose from. The food is good and the restaurant has nice casual surfer vibe to it. And you can't beat the location right on the beach and near the Crystal Pier. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good breakfast or lunch at Pacific Beach.

Will you go on to this restaurant you don't think very much of it but when you get your food and the great taste that you have all in your mind goes wild and the food is plentiful I highly recommend it for anybody going down towards the fisherman's pier

Good breakfast place. I ordered the Big breakfast number two. The French toast tasted like it was whole wheat bread soaked in custard, toasted on a griddle, and then baked in the oven. It was yummy. The potatoes had chopped bell peppers and onions. They were savory, just what I wanted. The line was long but it went fast and the whole staff seemed very efficient.

Nothing amazing, for lines out the door. Had the tuna sandwich and it was really dry and bland. Some pepper, onions or extra mayo could have saved it. Please visit skybound coffee + desserts if you want to take your family out for an impressive breakfast.

Burritos the size of your head. Fresh avocado. Amazing spot for breakfast. Across the walkway they have seating right on the beach. Highly recommend to go early as there is a long wait (for good reason) as the morning goes on. Don’t get out of PB w/out trying Kono’s.

One of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. I don't know why this didnt show up in a google map search yesterday; it would have saved me from the gross premade yogurt parfait I bought at a coffee shop. Fresh eggs cooked in butter and perfectly crisp bacon. Just cooked like your mom would ( well not my mom, a mom who can actually cook)

I grew up eating here every summer and now bring my family here when we visit Pacific Beach. Great food, reasonable prices, awesome vibe. Plan on being there first before they open or expect long lines... Either way.... WORTH IT!

My favorite breakfast spot in San Diego! Everything is so delicious. Perfect for the hangover you are probably experiencing after going out in PB last night. The only bad thing is that the line can get very long during the weekends.

Awesome service. Lovely setting. I am not sure what the hype is about the food is though. It was good - but did not rock my world. Sort of heavy. We had the burrito #5 and big breakfast number 1. Both were nice. Coffee was ok. I would go here again but not if there is a line up like there was last time.

Large portions at good prices. Food was good and hearty and the location is excellent. We were there on a rainy day and got right in without waiting in line. However, while we were eating breakfast, a line started forming and by the time we left, the line was out the door and around the corner. Come early if you can. We'll be back if we're ever in the area again!

Great location and loaded big burritos. The taste is pretty plain - salsa is missing - only options are ketchup, tabasco, and tapatío... so just getting pancakes solves that 🥞

Seemed to be a pretty quick moving, albeit long line. Personally I would prefer table service with a separate Togo line, but this business is doing just fine the way it is run, so who is to say. We came here (tourists) because of the review hype, but found the wait and the food just wasn't anything special, it's just breakfast food after all. Had to pay for parking which was a bummer too.

Big portions, good food, excellent view. Line was part way around the building, about 20 min wait to order. Food came out in 5 min so overall quick service. We sat facing the beach on one of the patios. Big breakfast number 2, split between 2 of us. Coffee was strong but good, get extra cream and sugar. Will come back when in the area.

LOVE Kono’s. Amazing (and huge) breakfast burritos but you really can’t go wrong with anything. The line can get long on the weekends but it goes fast.

This was my first time in San Diego, and my travel mate ain't a fan of American breakfast so he didn't like it as much, but I for sure did. Absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere, the beach vibe, the fresh air and picturesque location. The food was yum (omelette perf cooked and the avocado oh so fresh) albeit heavy. We had to wait 20+ minutes in the line though (it was 27th December, so vacations yeah). Definitely visiting again.

Super tasty breakfast, and great seating options! We came here as a family of 8 on a Saturday morning an 9am and I was completely surprised by how quickly we got through the line, ordered our food, found seating and ate! Kono's Cafe has a great operation here and keeps people coming in and out so everybody can eat great food. Make sure you stop by next door and grab a cup of coffee from their coffee bar (which is very tasty and fairly priced) while you wait for your food!

This restaurant is a Pacific beach legend. Total surfer atmosphere, they are very well known for their breakfast all day. You have got to try the Kono's fried potatoes, simply awesome. Excellent pancake recipe and the coffee is terrific. Not your typical beach breakfast place, many steps above it. Absolutely enjoyed it. The pricing is great, and the staff are very warm and welcoming. If you are in town, you definitely need to stop in here.

Massive breakfast burritos that must weigh two pounds. Excellent food and quick service. Get there early to avoid the lines.

Great breakfast spot right on the boardwalk. Be warned though, their breakfast burritos, while delicious, come in around two pounds so be ready for a mid morning nap after eating.

If you live at the beach, you already know Kono's. If you're visiting the beach, do yourself (and family) a favor... Go here for breakfast. Great food for everyone, and big sizes for the hungry guys! Plus you can sit outside and have the ocean view!

Love this place for their breakfast food! Try the Kono's potatoes, you won't regret it! My daughter and I share the Big Breakfast and still have food left over. Everything we've eaten here has been good and the beach views while you eat are awesome too!

Kono's is an amazing spot for breakfast. The food is phenomenal and the prices are great. The workers were really friendly as well. Plus, you cant beat eating on the patio that overlooks the beach and ocean. I would definitely recommend this place.

Always good food, great and fast service. Although you might be on the line for a few minutes to make your order, your food will be out in no time. Totally worth it.

Food was great, loved the patio dining looking at today's HUGE waves. I would have given 5 stars but the workers didn't enforce their own rule of no dogs. I don't care to eat my meals with strangers dogs. I guess the rule meant OTHER people's dogs 😉😁

Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Food came out quickly and the proportions were on point. The coffee is great too, with the views to match. Great local joint with good local vibe. Don't sweat the line, it moves quickly.

Good food. Not a whole lot of options but that makes the menu not overwhelming Good was prepared rather quickly. Not badly priced at all. Food was very filling and delicious. Staff didn't have a whole lot of personality but they were not rude. Nice, easy going vibe.

I always order a breakfast burrito with bacon. Its huge and you will have leftovers. There is a coffee stand behind the restaurant that serves as a full coffee bar. The view on the rooftop is amazing. Parking is free.
